Medicaid

To qualify for Virginia Medicaid, you must be a Virginia resident and a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien in need of health care assistance, with a low or very low income. Eligibility also requires you to meet one of the following criteria: be pregnant, care for a child under 18, be aged 19 to 64 and not enrolled in Medicare, be blind, have a disability, live with a disabled family member, or be 65 or older.

A health care service or product that is provided for under the Medicaid State Plan and is necessary and consistent with generally accepted professional standards to: diagnose, treat, or prevent illness or disease; regain functional capacity; or reduce or ameliorate effects of an illness, injury, or disability.
