Care Can't Wait
No family should have to wait or lose care

Shenandoah Community Health Clinic is at a critical crossroads. As the primary local provider for uninsured and underinsured families, we are facing a funding gap that threatens our ability to continue offering essential medical, dental, and behavioral health services. Without immediate support, we may be forced to scale back or shut down key aspects of our operations and directly impact on members of the community who rely on us most.
Last year alone, over 90% of our patients were local community members and families, many of whom fall into the coverage gap: they earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. These are the people who delay care, skip medications, and wait until conditions become emergencies.
Despite these challenges, our clinic served:
-
1,930 total patients,
-
6,061 patient visits,
-
helped with over $224,000 savings for patients through medication assistance programs.
These numbers are much more than a simple service, but they represent neighbors who received blood pressure checks before a crisis, children who accessed behavioral support in school, parents who finally received dental care, and families who found compassionate care when they had nowhere else to go.
But with the rising costs, increased demand, and limited reimbursement streams have pushed us to a major breaking point. Community support currently makes up only a portion of our operating budget, and without increased funding, we cannot sustain the level of care our community depends on.
We are asking for your help to keep our doors open and protect the health of our community. Every contribution directly supports preventative care, chronic disease management, behavioral health services, fresh food pharmacy, and medication assistance programs that prevent emergencies, reduce suffering, and save lives.
